I am writing as a Maine constituent to ask you to vote no on the confirmation of Todd Blanche as Attorney General. His record in this role disqualifies him. On the Epstein files, the Justice Department under Mr. Blanche withheld large numbers of records under privilege claims, removed thousands of previously released documents from public access, and disclosed identifying information about victims that the Department later acknowledged should have been protected. In June 2026, a federal judge ordered the Department to produce additional unredacted records or explain why it was withholding them under the Epstein Files Transparency Act. Rather than acknowledging these failures, Mr. Blanche has repeatedly declared the matter closed, even as litigation and public scrutiny have continued. On the Anti-Weaponization Fund, Mr. Blanche personally negotiated and signed a settlement that would have provided extraordinary protection from IRS enforcement for President Trump, members of his family, and affiliated businesses. Although portions of that agreement have since been revised, his willingness to approve such exceptional treatment for the President raises serious questions about his independence and his fitness to serve as the nation’s chief law enforcement officer. For these reasons, I ask you to vote NO on the confirmation vote for Todd Blanche for Attorney General.
