I am a constituent writing to insist you raise a blaring alarm about the Trump regime’s plan to deport migrants to Libya and Rwanda. The person the regime is negotiating this horror with is not even a recognized government but a warlord not recognized by the UN. Our own State Department has reported that conditions in Libya are inhumane and violate international law. The cruelty in this plan tarnishes our entire country. Plus, there is no real guarantee that they won’t also decide to send citizen-dissidents there to deter resistance. We cannot allow this to stand and claim to be a good country. Please break through to your Republican colleagues and make them see the risk to our international standing and our own citizens - the risk to America’s soul. Do everything you must to stop this nightmare.
