Reject disastrous fossil fuel megabill harming American families

The megabill proposed by Senate Republicans would be disastrous for Americans' pocketbooks, jobs, health, and our planet's future. It would gut transformational investments from the Inflation Reduction Act designed to lower household energy bills, create millions of good jobs, cut toxic pollution harming communities, and confront the escalating climate crisis. Key provisions repeal or eliminate critical clean energy tax credits, electric vehicle incentives, pollution reduction programs, manufacturing support, public health safeguards, and more - all while handing out corporate giveaways to wealthy polluters. At a time when families are struggling with rising costs, this extreme legislation would raise energy bills up to $500 per household annually in some states by 2040. It would kill over 800,000 jobs across clean energy, manufacturing, and related industries over the next 15 years. It scraps landmark environmental justice investments for disadvantaged communities on the fencelines of polluting facilities. And it turbocharges fossil fuel extraction on public lands while slashing royalty rates paid to taxpayers. This reckless bill flatly rejects the need to rapidly transition away from fossil fuels causing climate chaos. For the well-being of American families, frontline communities, our economy, and a livable planet for future generations, I urge you to vote no on this destructive megabill. We cannot afford to let this one big, bad bill become law.
