I was unable to leave a voice mail message today at your office so please treat this email as you would a phone call. I am absolutely outraged at reports of mistreatment, neglect, and dangerous conditions at ICE detention facilities across the country. Detainees have died in these centers! In many ways, the detention centers resemble the Nazi concentration camps ! I have been protesting these centers and I very strongly urge Senator Durbin to put a stop to these abuses by: 1. Conducting public oversight hearings and investigations into conditions at ICE facilities and the violent abuse of detainees. 2. Calling for the closure of facilities where credible reports of abuse, neglect, or unsafe conditions have been documented, such as Delaney Hall and Dilley. 3. Opposing the use of private for-profit detention centers that prioritize profits over human welfare. These centers take money meant fir detainees welfare and put it in their pockets! 4. Demanding the release of children, pregnant detainees, elderly individuals, and other medically vulnerable people from detention. Children especially for not belong in detention centers and are irreversible traumatized when they are put there! Please do something about these awful centers! Thank you for your conduderation..
