Cosponsor the Meeks Ukraine Aid Bill and Vote Yes

To: Rep. Kustoff, Sen. Blackburn, Sen. Hagerty

From: A constituent in Brownsville, TN

June 5

The House just passed Rep. Gregory Meeks' Ukraine aid bill 226-195, and the Senate needs to act. Cosponsor this legislation and vote yes. It provides over $1 billion in security and reconstruction aid and makes another $8 billion available in defense loans — real support for a country that has been fighting for its survival for more than four years. Zelenskyy already accepted an unconditional ceasefire. Putin refused. The argument that more aid undermines peace negotiations doesn't hold up when one side is the obstacle to peace. Rep. Don Bacon put it plainly: "Are we going to stand with good or are we going to stand with evil?" That's the choice here. Abandoning Ukraine now hands Putin exactly what he's been waiting for, and no amount of White House diplomacy changes that calculus while Russia keeps advancing. The Senate also has a sanctions bill targeting Russian oil, gas, and uranium exports that has been sitting idle. Move that too. The House found the votes to act by going around its own leadership. The Senate should find the will to do the same.
