Rep. Rich McCormick held a devastating town hall in Georgia’s district 7 two days ago. Clearly Georgia’s voters are angry (pissed off was the actual words used) about the takeover that’s happening in Washington. Conversely, Bernie Sanders held his own packed out town hall the same day on fighting the oligarchy. We need more of that energy in Georgia! We know that your job has traditionally been to vote on issues we care about or introduce legislation that will affect our state. But the Republican side has begun a hostile takeover of the government. Trump is called King, Musk is allowed carte blanche access to any department he and the Muskrats want. Government agencies and funds that were voted on by congress are getting hacked to pieces. The CDC here in Georgia has been impacted in the hundreds. This is not even mentioning the Department of Education, Medicaid, or the USPS. Or even more alarming—the threats to Ukraine, Canada and Greenland. There are too many urgent issues to even name. Thank you for responding to me about your efforts to fight Musk’s illegal grab of our personal information. But legislation is not enough at the moment. Georgia needs to see you out front and leading us. With so many Georgians angry and McCormick making the news, NOW is the time to respond with your own town hall. Call on more Georgians to protest, to raise their voices. Make more Georgians aware of Musk’s and Trump’s conflicts of interest and grabs at illegal power. We are going to need every voice of dissent if our democracy is going to be saved.
We do not want another World War. We do not want to lose our services. And we need you to be vocal at home as well as Washington. This cannot be business as usual. Take the gloves off and fight!
