Congress needs to stand up and say "no more puppet leaders, not in our name." Venezuela, Iran, who's next? It's a spinning wheel of regime change! We did it in Iran in 1953. We've been doing it in Latin America for a century. Remember Iran Contra? Yeah, that went great. And here we go again, rattling sabers at Venezuela and Iran. Sovereign nations get to pick their own leaders, even ones we find inconvenient. The last several dozen times we decided otherwise, it didn't exactly end in a thriving democracy and a grateful populace. It ended in destabilization, suffering, and refugees at our border that we then blamed for their plight. The audacity of the cycle is genuinely breathtaking. Take back your oversight powers and end US meddling with foreign leadership.
