Age verification laws have proven to present more problems than solutions, especially in the wake of the revelation that certain public officials are in the Epstein Files. These officials are throwing their support behind age verification in the hopes of looking through the sensitive photos of children and adults alike while using the data to create CSAM. Predators in power should not be in charge of writing or supporting policy, and age verification is definitely something they favor. Stopping companies from scraping data and photos of kids or even from collecting it would protect them a great deal more than imposing censorship and age verification. Age verification also results in data leaks which could become a national security issue down the line If a hostile party gets control of government data or country secrets because of age verification hacks, then everyone will be endangered.
