DOGE is now in control of the Department of Interior, including personnel and budget. I just read Heather Cox Richardson’s Earth Day newsletter. I am appalled to learn that on April 17 Secretary Burgum ceded oversight of the Department to Tyler Hassan, CEO of a Houston based energy company. He was assigned to Assistant Secretary for Policy, Management and Budget (AS-PMB). Apparently this is in violation of the appointment clause of the Constitution. This position should be voted on by the Senate. DOGE is a lawless entity. I have no faith that this individual will represent the will of the American people. I am afraid this will result in destruction to the environment and a land/resource grab to enrich a few wealthy individuals. When is Congress going to take back control of legislative power?
