Reject dehumanizing reality show exploiting vulnerable immigrants

To: Rep. Dean, Sen. Fetterman, Pres. Trump, Sen. McCormick

From: A constituent in Lansdale, PA

May 16

The Department of Homeland Security's proposal to create a reality show where immigrants compete for U.S. citizenship is highly unethical and dehumanizing. Forcing vulnerable individuals to participate in sensationalized challenges for the basic right of citizenship is nothing more than exploitation for entertainment purposes. This demeaning concept trivializes the already arduous immigration process that so many aspiring Americans must endure. Such a show would promote harmful stereotypes and turn the sincere hopes of immigrants into a cruel spectacle. The American dream should be attainable through existing legal channels, not twisted into a game show gimmick. I urge you to reject this outrageous idea and instead focus efforts on comprehensive immigration reform that treats all people with dignity and respect.
