The massive cuts to Medicaid being proposed in the Budget Resolution would devastate the lives of millions who rely on this essential program. As your constituent, I urge you to firmly reject these harmful cuts and protect Medicaid. Medicaid provides vital healthcare coverage to over 70 million Americans, including 40% of pregnant women and 15 million adults with disabilities. It enables disabled individuals to live independently in their communities instead of being institutionalized. Medicaid also supports millions of seniors in nursing homes and children with disabilities in schools. Slashing $880 billion from Medicaid would cruelly strip away this lifeline and liberty from our most vulnerable citizens. It would force many into poverty, homelessness, and substandard care facilities separated from their families and communities. Medicaid is a critical safety net that allows recipients to participate fully in economic, social, and civic life. Gutting this program would not only devastate millions of lives, but harm us all as a nation. I implore you to protect our communities by voting no on any cuts to Medicaid funding.
