After an unprecedented assault on our government from the Executive branch, I see the patterns of autocracy. Silencing dissent, attacking the press, demonizing the other are all signs. I would hope that Congress would stand behind their oaths to the Constitution and their role is a equal branch of government. However, from what I have witnessed so far, the Republican majority is turning a blind eye. I have no faith that any of you will do the right thing because you are so beholden to your thirst for power that you will stand up to Trump. I hope you will prove me wrong, but I will not hold my breath.
