More data about Senator Susan Collins quid pro quo campaign donations following contracts has emerged.
Collins and her associate PACs received major donations from a contractor that had not donated to her for many years after she rubber stamped government purchase contracts for vehicles that the army did not need.
Collins arranged for a 345 million dollar purchase of TRUCKS THE ARMY DID NOT NEED from AM General.
The possibility for this kind of corruption associated with Appropriators is built into the system. But this latest revelation is only one of several linked to Senator Collins.
There is also the Navatek scandal which saw people imprisoned. And there is a scandal linked to funds for sea craft which the army did not need or even buy.
This is not misfortune or carelessness. It's an abuse of appropriations power. It's corrupt and illegal. Congress needs to clean its house and must not tolerate fraud, lying, sexual misconduct or campaign enrichment stunts. Collins needs to be investigated, censured, and removed from her committee assignments.
