I am writing with urgency and deep concern about the Trump administration’s failure to comply with a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling regarding Mr. Garcia, a U.S. citizen who was unlawfully deported. The Court has made it clear: Mr. Garcia has a constitutional right to remain in the United States. Yet the administration has not taken action to bring him back, despite the highest court in our country affirming his status and rights. This is not only a violation of Mr. Garcia’s individual liberties, but also a dangerous undermining of the rule of law and the authority of the judicial branch. When an administration ignores the Supreme Court, it threatens the very foundation of our democracy. I call on you to demand immediate compliance with the ruling and ensure that Mr. Garcia is safely and promptly returned to the U.S. Our government must be held accountable to the Constitution. No individual or administration is above the law.
