I am writing to demand an immediate investigation into credible reports that FBI Director Kash Patel has deployed FBI SWAT personnel to provide protection for his girlfriend. If these reports are accurate, this represents a stunning abuse of federal law enforcement resources and a betrayal of the public trust.
FBI SWAT teams are not personal security details. They are highly trained tactical units funded by American taxpayers and tasked with protecting communities during dangerous operations—active shooter situations, high-risk warrants, terrorism threats, and other emergencies where lives are on the line. Pulling these teams away from their critical duties to act as personal babysitters for the director’s romantic partner is not only inappropriate—it is fiscally irresponsible and potentially dangerous.
Every moment these units are diverted for personal use is a moment they are unavailable to respond to real threats facing American communities. Local jurisdictions rely on federal tactical support when crises erupt. Depleting those capabilities for private convenience undermines public safety and erodes confidence in federal law enforcement.
Taxpayer-funded resources cannot be treated as personal perks for government officials. If the Director of the FBI—or any federal official—requires personal security for private individuals, there must be a transparent, lawful justification and appropriate funding mechanisms. Anything less is an abuse of power.
You must immediately determine:
• Whether FBI SWAT personnel were assigned to protect Director Patel’s girlfriend.
• Who authorized the deployment of these federal tactical units.
• How many personnel and operational hours have been diverted from public safety duties.
• What taxpayer funds have been spent on this arrangement.
• Whether federal ethics rules, appropriations law, or internal FBI policies have been violated.
If this misuse occurred, those responsible must be held accountable and safeguards must be implemented to ensure that federal tactical teams are never again treated as personal security services for officials’ private relationships.
The American people fund these units to protect our communities—not to serve as private escorts for government leadership. Misusing elite law enforcement personnel in this way is not only wasteful, it is an insult to the officers risking their lives every day to keep Americans safe.
I expect swift answers and full transparency.
