Today’s latest execution by ICE cements the seriousness of the situation. These untrained, violent brutes are not law enforcement. They do not hesitate to murder dissenters in cold blood. They may make claims about dangerous situations, but we have seen video evidence that shows these acts to be murder. It is imperative that our Georgia representatives in the capitol and at home work together and with their colleagues to protect Georgians and Americans who live in fear of being killed. If they can gun down white U.S. citizens in broad daylight, immigrants and all people of color are in imminent danger. Get them out of our state entirely. Make being here a miserable experience. Make them regret entering the city that rises from the ashes time and time again. Atlantans and Georgians are resilient people who won’t take authoritarian rule quietly and will help to protest their presence and vote out those who stand in the way of anything short of clear and decisive action in protecting us.
