Pass SRES 567 for the sake of medical providers and all Americans. Increasing levels of health care worker burnout pose a serious threat to the health and safety of all Americans. Health care workers deserve enough time off to rest from the grueling work they do. They deserve better benefits and better working conditions. You can mandate rest for them, and salaries that allow them to live without major sacrifices. You can incentivize people to train for health care jobs, and incentivize institutions to accommodate for medical students’ needs, such as childcare. Medical providers’ work is quite literally an essential service. Modern medicine saves lives every day. Every second, even. But this is further jeopardized every second of every day that no action is taken to protect health care workers’ wellbeing. This resolution would be the start to addressing this issue. Improving medical providers’ quality of living would benefit you, too. There is no health care without health care workers. Pass SRES567. Thank you.
