tRump unilaterally decided to declare war on Iran for a variety of reasons that have been changed, shuffled and added/deleted as the stupidity of this “excursion” unfolded. I wrote to each of you when this first occurred.  One of you (Mackensei) wrote incorrectly that the President had satisfied the requirement to obtain Congressional approval (Fetterman and McCormick never responded).  So here we are. It is obvious that the President does not solicit or consider the advice of his cabinet or staff.  Worse yet, it may indicate that his cabinet or staff is too incompetent to advise the President of the inevitable ramifications of the Iranian closure of the Strait of Hormuz. Which brings me back to my original message to you complaining about the President’s failure to obey the Constitutional requirement to obtain Congress’ authorization prior to any military “excursion”. The Founding Fathers wrote this requirement into the Constitution presciently.  The did NOT trust one man (or woman) to make this decision.  They had lived with a world ruled by monarchies where the royal leader often unilaterally executed military “excursions” without the consent of the population. It is now painfully obvious that the President’s misadventure in Iran was a mistake.  Whether a Republican-controlled Congress would have disapproved is debatable and moot at this point. But this “excursion” has cost us the death of 7 service men, at least 182 Iranian deaths, gas over $4/gallon and the loss of numerous very expensive military aircraft.  SO FAR! And now the President plans to just walk away from the conflict.  He has revised the objectives so as to proclaim success although the entire world now endures the constraint in Hormuz. He has violated the Constitution’s requirement to obtain Congressional authorization (among other violations such as the Emoluments Clause).  He has demonstrated an inability to ascertain the viability of military activities or obtain recommendations from established advisors.  He has engaged in misadventure that is negatively impacting America AND the world. High Crimes and Misdemeanors.  Article II, Section 4.  IMPEACH the President now!
