The science is clear: 7-OH is far less dangerous than traditional opioids, and in the three years it has been widely available, there have been zero deaths attributed to 7-OH alone. Since it reached the market, opioid overdose deaths have dropped. Scheduling it doesn't solve a crisis — it creates one, by pushing millions of people back to the deadly opioids they left behind. The corruption behind this proposal is just as alarming as the policy itself. RFK Jr. received a $1 million donation from the owner of Feel Free, a competing kratom beverage company that has lost business to 7-OH products. This ban is being driven by a donor protecting his market share, not by public health science. Because 7-OH occurs naturally in kratom, scheduling it also throws the entire kratom industry into legal chaos — a massive unintended consequence that harms a separate, established market. This administration is letting a wealthy donor dictate drug policy while real people pay with their lives. I expect you to oppose this scheduling action, demand a full investigation into the conflict of interest, and make clear that public health decisions cannot be bought.
