Stop Weaponizing Title VII and Title IX for Corporate Greed and Legal Subversion

To: Rep. Moolenaar, Sen. Peters, Sen. Slotkin

From: A constituent in Mesick, MI

September 30

I am your constituent, and I am writing to demand that you fiercely defend our civil rights under Title VII and Title IX against the coordinated rollbacks pushed by dark-money think tanks like the Heritage Foundation. We must call this rhetoric what it truly is: a calculated attempt to use social engineering to satisfy corporate greed, preserve a cheap labor supply, and secure a captive consumer market at the expense of human liberty. Think tanks claim they are "protecting women’s biology" or defending "traditional values." The economic data tells a different story. The average middle-income family spends over $310,000 to raise a single child, funneled directly into the pockets of corporate landlords, health conglomerates, and consumer markets. Corporate models rely on infinite population growth to keep labor cheap and consumer bases expanding. By trying to force women out of athletics and back into traditional domestic roles, these policies seek to offload the financial burden of generating the next generation of taxpayers and workers onto the unpaid labor of women. This agenda is not just an attack on athletics; it is a systematic dismantling of our legal protections: • Dismantling Workplace Fairness: These rollbacks seek to eliminate the Title VII "disparate impact" standard, making it nearly impossible for workers to hold employers accountable for policies that systematically discriminate against women, minorities, or older workers. • Erasing Campus Accountability: These proposed rule changes actively narrow the definition of sexual harassment under Title IX, rolling back the clock to protect institutions rather than students, and making it harder to investigate campus sexual assault. • Penalizing Non-Traditional Families: These efforts include restructuring federal benefits and tax codes to financially punish single parents, cohabitating couples, and LGBTQIA+ households who do not fit a rigid, corporate-approved family mold. We, the People, have unalienable rights to live freely and choose our own destinies. True freedom means that if a woman wants to build a career and make money off her athleticism, so be it. If a LGBTQIA+ couple wants to build a life and run a business, so be it. If a traditional couple wants a nuclear family, so be it. If an individual chooses to live a single, child-free life, so be it. Corporate entities, federal agencies, and our laws must evolve to meet the needs of a diverse, modern society rather than forcing the public into rigid, profitable boxes. I urge you to block any administrative or legislative actions that narrow the scope of civil rights protections, and instead codify explicit, permanent safeguards for bodily autonomy, career choice, and identity. I will be monitoring your legislative actions and votes closely.
