End the corrupt redistricting forever-wars; repeal the UCDA

To: Rep. Balint

From: A verified voter in West Charleston, VT

August 9

90 percent of Americans disapprove of redistricting by and for the benefit of incumbent representatives and the majority party. Corrupt gerrymandering happens repeatedly in places like the extraordinarily corrupt state of Texas solely due to the Uniform Congressional District Act of 1967 (UCDA), which requires states to draw single-member districts for the House. Single-member districts are easy to manipulate. It’s not hard for line-drawers to predict which party will have an advantage by packing a district with supporters, or by splitting any opposition by drawing a line right through them. It’s no coincidence that states with single-member districts are uniquely susceptible to gerrymandering. End this incredibly unpopular and undemocratic practice now.
