I am writing to urge you to vote NO on the motion to table H.Res. 353, the Articles of Impeachment introduced by Representative Shri Thanedar. Voting to table this resolution is not a neutral act—it is an intentional decision to avoid accountability and silence debate over serious allegations involving former President Trump’s abuses of power.
This resolution directly addresses Trump’s repeated and escalating attacks on the democratic foundations of our nation. The Constitution outlines mechanisms for accountability, and impeachment is one of them. To kill this resolution without even allowing a discussion would signal to the public that some individuals are indeed above the law.
We cannot allow political expediency to override constitutional responsibility. Choosing to table this resolution sends the dangerous message that power can go unchecked and that those in high office are beyond reproach. That is not the democracy we were promised.
If you believe in defending our institutions, upholding the rule of law, and standing against authoritarianism, then you must allow these articles of impeachment to proceed and be debated on the floor. The American people deserve to see that Congress will not turn its back on its duties out of fear or convenience.
Please vote NO on the motion to table H.Res. 353 and let this process play out as the Constitution intended.
