Reject Dennis Kirk’s Appointment to the Interior Department Watchdog Office Reject the appointment of Dennis Kirk to the Department of the Interior’s Office of Inspector General (OIG). As a co-author of Project 2025 who advocated for dismantling federal workforce protections, Mr. Kirk lacks the neutrality required of an independent watchdog. Installing a partisan architect inside an oversight role fundamentally undermines the non-partisan integrity of the Inspector General system. The Interior OIG is currently tasked with reviewing serious ethics complaints and potential self-dealing among senior officials, alongside managing public lands and Tribal programs. Placing a partisan operative within the watchdog office compromises objective oversight, protects bad actors, and erodes public trust in government accountability. Congress must defend independent oversight. I urge you to demand transparency, protect watchdog independence, and oppose Dennis Kirk’s placement in the Interior Department’s Office of Inspector General.
