Do everything in your power to push back against Trump's ban on MSNBC, CNN, and Politico from the White House. This is a direct attack on the First Amendment, and it cannot go unanswered by elected officials who swore to uphold the Constitution.
A federal judge already ruled in April 2025 that Trump's earlier ban on Associated Press journalists was "contrary to the First Amendment." Now he's escalating, openly admitting the effort is worth pursuing "whether it survives or doesn't" in court. That's not a president enforcing the law — that's a president using the machinery of government to punish critical coverage and control what Americans hear. The ACLU is right: the government cannot ban outlets from official events because it dislikes their reporting. This is textbook authoritarian press suppression.
The White House Correspondents' Association said it best — this isn't just about journalists, it's about the American people's right to an independent account of their government. Speak out publicly, introduce or co-sponsor legislation protecting press access to the White House, and support any legal challenge that restores it. Silence from Congress on this is complicity.
