The prosecution of Rep. LaMonica McIver raises serious concerns about overreach and infringement on Congress's constitutional oversight authority. As an elected representative, McIver has a responsibility to conduct oversight of federal agencies like Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Obstructing or criminalizing that oversight undermines our system of checks and balances enshrined in our democracy.
