The White House has indicated they will soon request $80 billion in supplemental appropriations to pay for Trump’s war on Iran, on top of the record $1.5 trillion they already want for the Pentagon. You should not approve a single additional penny. This administration has spent a year and a half insisting we cannot afford public spending that actually helps us, from cancer research to child care. Now they’re telling us we apparently have billions just lying around ready to spend on a war of choice that none of us chose. The billion dollars a day they spent in the opening weeks could cover all the cuts they made to Medicaid and the ACA tax credits! It’s ridiculous, and it’s unacceptable. The White House just killed thousands of people and screwed up our economy, and Iran is going to be richer and stronger than it was in February. We’re already paying too much for it in gas and everything that needs gas to get to the store. You can stop us from having to pay for it in school lunches and Social Security too. Don’t make the defense contractors and fossil fuel companies richer while working folks struggle to pay the bills. Put regular Americans first for once.
