I am writing as a concerned constituent to respectfully urge you to continue supporting public media outlets, particularly PBS and NPR. These institutions provide invaluable educational programming and trusted news coverage that millions of Americans—young and old—depend on every day.
PBS, in particular, has played a crucial role in early childhood education. Many of us grew up watching Sesame Street, and we’ve raised our children on shows like Arthur, Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and so many others that offer safe, thoughtful, and enriching content. These programs are more than just entertainment—they are tools for learning, empathy, and social development, often filling gaps that many schools and families struggle to meet on their own.
Public media serves every community, urban and rural, and does so with integrity, accessibility, and public service at its core. To cut funding would be to take away a treasured and essential resource from current and future generations.
Please continue to protect and invest in PBS and NPR. Our children—and our democracy—depend on it.
Thank you for your time and for your commitment to serving our community.
