Launch a full investigation into Freedom 250 and the potential fraud surrounding America's 250th anniversary celebrations. The House Natural Resources Committee report lays out serious allegations: donors who intended to give to the congressionally created America250 commission were reportedly directed — without their knowledge — to wire funds into Freedom 250's bank account instead. That's not a political dispute. That's potential wire fraud and charitable solicitation fraud. Congress created America250 a decade ago, appropriated over $120 million for it, and gave it a clear bipartisan mission. Trump sidelined that commission in favor of Freedom 250, an organization tied to his allies that has steered taxpayer-funded contracts and sold presidential access. Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick has already hinted at a public inquiry into how appropriated funds were used. That inquiry needs to happen — and it needs subpoena power behind it. The American people deserve to know whether public money and donor funds were diverted to benefit Trump and his political network.
