Protect free speech and international students

To: Sen. Moran, Sen. Marshall, Pres. Trump, Rep. Mann

From: A constituent in Manhattan, KS

April 14

Deporting international students solely for exercising their constitutional right to free speech is a blatant violation of the First Amendment. It undermines the principles of academic freedom and open discourse that are crucial for a thriving democracy. These actions by the Trump administration are needlessly punitive and will damage America's reputation as a welcoming destination for scholars and innovators from around the world. We must uphold the values enshrined in our Constitution and protect the rights of all people within our borders, regardless of their nation of origin. Rather than infringe on civil liberties, the government should foster an environment where diverse perspectives can be expressed and debated openly on college campuses. I urge you to condemn these policies and take immediate action to safeguard free speech protections for international students.
