David Keeling Taking Amazon’s Unsafe, Working Conditions to OSHA

To: Sen. King, Rep. Pingree, Sen. Collins

From: A verified voter in Cumberland Center, ME

July 3

I am writing to urge you to demand the immediate resignation of David Keeling as Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The mission of OSHA is to guarantee that the American workforce operates in safe, healthy environments. Appointing an executive from a corporation notorious for its poor labor practices directly compromises this mission.  David Keeling, was Amazon's "director of global transportation safety", a Senate investigation revealed that Amazon warehouses are twice as dangerous as those of its competitors. Entrusting the oversight of federal workplace safety to someone who led safety operations for a company with such an egregious record is a conflict of interest that puts millions of working Americans at risk.  We deserve an OSHA administrator dedicated to protecting workers, not corporate interests. I urge you to represent your constituents by demanding that David Keeling step down immediately.
