DO NOT PASS LAW FROM HR9495. HR9495 passed the House last week putting our country closer to a reality of giving the Trump administration unfettered ability to destroy any nonprofit he wants to by deeming them “supporters of terrorism “. The bill that passed has no definition of “support” or “terrorism” and requires no due process to deem an organization “supporters of terrorism”. It is easy to see this if it were to become law used against civil rights organization, environmental protection organization, consumer protection organizations, hospitals, and universities. Laws already exist that include due process that make support of terrorism illegal. HR9495 has no intent to keep Americans safe. It merely disguises an antidemocratic law aiming to destroy any nonprofit that opposes Trump and his extremist antidemocratic destructive agenda.
