Stop Wasting Taxpayer Money on Anti-Trans Witch Hunts

To: Sen. Slotkin, Rep. Walberg, Sen. Peters

The Justice Department is now offering $25,000 signing bonuses to recruit attorneys willing to investigate youth transgender treatments. That should tell you everything you need to know about how unpopular and legally indefensible this agenda is. When you have to bribe lawyers to take cases, you've already lost. Federal courts have repeatedly blocked these efforts. A judge in Maryland denied access to Children's National Hospital records. Pennsylvania courts stopped the administration from obtaining patient files from Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Just last month, a federal judge denied a request to stay an injunction protecting health care providers who offer gender-affirming care. The Justice Department has hemorrhaged staff under this administration, dropping from 10,000 attorneys to 5,500. Rather than rebuild capacity to handle actual priorities like violent crime or corporate fraud, Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche is throwing taxpayer money at a culture war that keeps losing in court. This is fiscal irresponsibility masquerading as policy. Vote against any appropriations that fund these recruitment bonuses and retention incentives. Redirect that money toward legitimate law enforcement priorities that actually protect Americans.
