Protect PA disabilities

To: Gov. Shapiro, Sen. Cappelletti, Rep. Briggs

From: A constituent in Wayne, PA

June 25

As your constituent, I am deeply concerned about the transfer of federal oversight of special education under IDEA away from the U.S. Department of Education. Regardless of changes at the federal level, I urge Pennsylvania to strengthen its commitment to protecting students with disabilities. Please ensure our state maintains strong oversight, robust enforcement of IDEA, adequate funding for special education, and accessible pathways for families to resolve disputes and hold school districts accountable. Pennsylvania’s children deserve consistent educational protections and the services they need to succeed. Please stand with students with disabilities and their families.
