Measles is now spreading in the Texas ICE Dilley Immigration Processing Center, one of the largest family detention facilities in the country. More than 1,200 people are currently held there, including more than 400 children. People can be infected with measles and be contagious, spreading the disease to others, long before they have any rash. At ICE facilities, people transfer in and out so quickly they will be unwittingly spreading the infection wherever they go. Medical care at these for profit facilities is notoriously poor. Many facilities are cutting back on medical staff to save money. This is a public health crisis in the making! You must take action to protect lives. Stop The ICE Terror on our streets. Stop the inhumane detention in facilities with little or no medical care available, leaving inmates and staff to be exposed to preventable diseases with serious consequences.
