End U.S. Participation in Gaza Strikes I am writing as a constituent to ask you to support ending further U.S. military participation in Israel’s continued military operations in Gaza. Despite the ceasefire declared in October 2025, Israeli strikes have continued on a near-daily basis. As of August 2, 2026, Gaza’s Health Ministry reported that more than 73,000 Palestinians had been killed since October 2023. More than 1,200 of those deaths occurred after the ceasefire took effect. This past weekend alone, strikes and shelling reportedly killed more than two dozen people. Independent mortality research published in The Lancet Global Health suggests the true death toll is likely higher than official figures indicate. The financial and strategic cost to the United States has been substantial. Between October 2023 and September 2025, the United States provided roughly $21.7 billion in military aid to Israel. The United States has also approved tens of billions of dollars in additional arms sales for future delivery. The transfer of munitions from the U.S. War Reserve Stockpile in Israel has likewise raised concerns among some defense analysts about the potential effect on U.S. military readiness. Given Israel’s continued strikes on Gaza despite the ceasefire, I ask you to: 1.    Support blocking new transfers of offensive weapons and suspending delivery of offensive military equipment already approved but not yet transferred, while continuing support for defensive missile-defense systems necessary to protect civilians from external attack. 2.    Oppose any FY2027 appropriations or National Defense Authorization Act funding that continues U.S. military cooperation with Israel absent full compliance with ceasefire terms and international law. The current U.S.-Israel Memorandum of Understanding is a political commitment, not binding law. Congress’s constitutional power over appropriations ultimately determines actual funding levels, and I urge you to use that authority. Thank you for your consideration.
