STOP jackbooted ICE tactics. STOP deporting harmless immigrants. RESTORE due process. RESPECT the rule of law. Of all the mean, despicable, stupid things this administration has done so far, the gestapo-like approach of ICE agents is the most un-American and inhumane of all. Masked men driving unmarked vehicles, grabbing people off the streets, smashing car windows to pull them out, putting tourists in shackles and holding them for days or weeks, sometimes in solitary confinement. Deporting people who have been here for years or decades and were important and productive members of their communities (and paid taxes). Worst of all, sending people to a notorious prison without giving any of them due process, then refusing to even attempt to bring them back. This is NOT America. The administration needs to cease and desist these actions immediately. The president must obey the courts and respect the rule of law. Congress needs to hold the president’s feet to the fire until he does. Better yet, Congress should impeach the president and remove him from office, as he is unfit to serve. States need to stand up to the president, stand up to ICE in our communities, fight for what’s right. We all know what’s right, and we all know the current situation is wrong. I’m a senior citizen. I’ve seen a lot in my life, but I’ve never seen anything like this. Give us back the America I grew up in.
