Stop the defunding of our public media and NPR.

To: Pres. Trump, Sen. Padilla, Sen. Schiff, Rep. Kim

From: A verified voter in Aliso Viejo, CA

May 3

I am writing to express my strong opposition to the recent executive order directing the defunding of NPR and PBS. As a constituent, I urge you to take a public stand against this decision and work to ensure continued support for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Public media plays a vital role in our democracy by providing fact-based news, educational programming, and cultural content to Americans of all ages and backgrounds—especially in rural and underserved communities where public broadcasting is often the only accessible source of reliable information. Defunding it threatens not only public access to trustworthy journalism and educational resources, but also undermines the values of free speech and press independence. This action is politically motivated and deeply concerning. I do not support it, and I hope you do not either. I ask you to do everything in your power to oppose this order and protect federal funding for public media. Thank you for your time and for your commitment to serving the public interest.
