President Trump’s proposed Monumental Arch is an insult to every American buried at Arlington National Cemetery, which is sacred ground in this country. Federal law requires explicit authorization from Congress before building on protected lands. The project also lacks approval by the planning commission to circumvent the 130-foot height restriction. Trump is planning to bulldoze his way through the legal requirements and start work on it, as he did with the East Wing of the White House. Do not allow him to dishonor all the vets buried in Arlington Cemetery and destroy centuries of historic preservation and care lavished on our capital. Stand up for your rights as Senators as well as our rights as citizens
