We are deeply concerned about the unfettered growth of AI. It needs to be regulated and slowed down; there is no time to wait. We are concerned about its capacity to end humanity, but more immediately, we worry about its growing capacity to hack into sensitive systems, sweep up Americans’ data, and surveil us. It is unacceptable. Congress needs to act NOW.
