PBS and NPR provide an invaluable public service by delivering fact-based, noncommercial journalism and educational programming to millions of Americans. Defunding these vital institutions would deprive communities across the country of trustworthy news and educational content. Claims of pervasive bias at NPR and PBS do not align with robust external analyses that have consistently found their reporting to be fair and non-partisan. Furthermore, terminating federal funding would disproportionately harm rural and underserved areas that rely heavily on public broadcasting. I urge you to safeguard the freedom of the press and access to quality educational resources by protecting the funding for NPR and PBS.
