I'm writing to express my support for the continued funding pause of the Department of Homeland Security. While I support border security and enforcement of border policies, it's abundantly clear that DHS and ICE are failed government departments that are a huge waste of funding, that are not effective in their charters, and that are actively causing problems to the fabric of American society and to law enforcement. They need to have their funding permanently removed, be completely dismantled, and either rebuilt from the ground up or left discarded. I am older than those departments and I do not know of any point in my life when they improved life or law enforcement in the United States. Please continue to push for their reform and keep their funding on hold.
