Last night's election results sent an unmistakable message: Americans demand change. We want universal healthcare, affordable groceries, higher taxes on the wealthy, an end to unnecessary wars, and real accountability for corruption and abuses of power.
We voted for justice, not to move on and heal. One reason we are enduring Trump 2.0 is that the Biden administration failed to adequately hold corrupt politicians accountable. No politician should be above the law, regardless of party. We expect our leaders to pursue meaningful reforms AND accountability simultaneously. Americans manage multiple responsibilities every day. Congress can do the same.
Schumer and Jeffries are NOT meeting this moment. Democrats need stronger, more aggressive leadership in both chambers. I am urging you to replace them with leaders who will fight for the mandate voters just delivered, rather than retreat into the same ineffective politics that brought us here.
Speaker Johnson canceled at least 63 scheduled House voting days during this Congress, including an extended pre-election recess. That is an absolute disgrace. Working Americans cannot simply abandon their responsibilities, and neither should Congress. Keep the House in session, hold votes, conduct oversight, and do the work we elected you to do. Our representatives should be working harder than the people they serve, not less.
We demand change AND accountability. Neither is optional. Pursue the policies Americans voted for, investigate corruption, hold those responsible accountable, and choose leadership with the courage to act.
Do not confuse this victory with a mandate for business as usual. We did not vote for more excuses, empty promises, or political cowardice. We voted for action. Deliver it.
