Speaker Johnson's decision to shut down the House early and block a vote on releasing Epstein-related documents is unacceptable. Victims like Annie Farmer have waited long enough. Forcing a recess to avoid a bipartisan transparency vote isn't leadership — it's obstruction, and it shouldn't come with a paycheck. No vote, no salary. If Congress won't do its job, it shouldn't get paid for the days it refuses to show up. When the House reconvenes in September, I expect a floor vote within 30 days on releasing all Epstein files, consistent with what both Republican and Democratic members have demanded. The Justice Department has already acknowledged there's more to review. Maxwell is being called to testify. The public deserves to see what Congress knows.
