Support Legislation for a Fourth Branch of Government

To: Rep. Huizenga, Sen. Slotkin, Sen. Peters

From: A verified voter in Kalamazoo, MI

April 19

I'm asking you to champion legislation that creates a fourth branch of government, entirely controlled by citizens, to hold the existing three branches accountable. Systemic corruption has compromised our institutions, and we need a transparent, decentralized system that government cannot control or manipulate. This isn't radical. Political scientist Erica Chenoweth found that no nonviolent movement failed once it achieved active participation from just 3.5% of the population. We have the numbers and the technology to build something powerful. I'm talking about decentralized investigative networks where politicians answer questions generated by collective intelligence, parallel voting systems to audit election integrity, direct ballot measures that bypass corrupt processes, and accountability mechanisms that give constituents real power over their representatives. The current system has been captured by forces that don't serve us. We need new infrastructure: transparent science systems on blockchain, whistleblower protections, citizen grand juries, and town halls that can't be stage-managed. This fourth branch would use technology to amplify collective problem-solving while remaining impossible to corrupt through decentralization. Will you introduce or co-sponsor legislation to establish this framework? The people are ready to reclaim their role in government.
