Silence on Trump’s Anti-Muslim, Anti-Immigrant, Antisemitic Hate Is a Choice
To: Sen. Cornyn, Sen. Cruz, Rep. Casar
From: A verified voter in Austin, TX
April 7
The El Paso shooter killed 23 people at a Walmart in 2019. His attorney told the court he believed he was “acting in the direction of the president” to “stop the invasion.” Trump had run over 2,000 Facebook ads using that word in the months before.
In Kansas in 2016, three men plotted to bomb a Somali mosque and timed it for after Election Day to protect Trump’s chances. Their attorney said his rhetoric pushed his client “from a 7 to an 11.”
In March 2026, a man rammed a truck into Michigan’s largest synagogue and opened fire. Research published in the American Economic Journal found Trump’s anti-Muslim posts predicted hate crime spikes the next day. Counties hosting his rallies saw hate crimes more than double.
Trump called Somali Americans “garbage” in December 2025. CAIR-Minnesota logged a 96% complaint spike that month. He used the slur “Shylocks” at a July 2025 rally. He called the Senate’s highest-ranking Jewish official “a Palestinian” as an insult in March 2025.
On Easter 2026, he signed a bomb threat to Iran with “Praise be to Allah.” The UN found in March 2026 that his “racist hate speech” led to “grave human rights violations.” The ADL recorded 9,354 antisemitic incidents in 2024, the most in 46 years.
Condemn this by name. Restore the $38 million in hate crime prevention funding this administration cut. Pass enforceable federal anti-hate legislation. Restore law, order, and accountability at the DOJ. The people committing these attacks keep telling you who radicalized them.
Call out Donald Trump for his hateful, dangerous and disgusting rhetoric.
