Greenland is an autonomous territory within the Kingdom of Denmark with its own government and population. Attempting to annex Greenland against the will of its people would be a violation of their right to self-determination and sovereignty. The proposed name change to "Red, White, and Blueland" appears disrespectful and dismissive of Greenland's distinct cultural identity. This unilateral attempt at acquiring territory runs counter to principles of democracy, human rights, and international law. Rather than pursuing this misguided legislation, efforts should be made to strengthen ties through diplomacy, trade, and cooperation on shared interests like environmental protection and Indigenous rights. The will of the Greenlandic people must be respected.
