Tax Scam Promoter Frank Schuler Has No Place in GSA

To: Sen. Cornyn, Rep. Casar, Sen. Cruz

From: A verified voter in Austin, TX

February 18

I urge you to take immediate action to remove Frank Schuler from his position as senior adviser to the General Services Administration (GSA). Schuler has a history of promoting abusive tax shelters known as syndicated conservation easements, which the IRS has labeled among “the worst of the worst tax scams.” Schuler’s firm, Ornstein-Schuler, was a leading promoter of these schemes, facilitating over $4 billion in disallowed deductions currently under litigation. These schemes have defrauded the U.S. Treasury of billions, undermining public trust and fiscal responsibility. Appointing an individual with such a background to a senior role in the GSA contradicts efforts to eliminate waste and fraud in government operations. I implore you to advocate for Schuler’s immediate dismissal and to implement stringent vetting processes for future appointments to safeguard the integrity of our federal agencies.
