Reject unacceptable SAVE Act, protect women's voting rights

To: Sen. Schiff, Rep. Rivas, Sen. Padilla, Pres. Trump

From: A verified voter in Valley Village, CA

April 10

The recently passed "SAVE Act" by House Republicans poses a direct threat to voting rights, particularly for women. Many women change their legal names after marriage, resulting in identification documents that no longer match their birth certificates. Shockingly, the SAVE Act fails to provide any accommodation for demonstrating legally changed names with additional documentation. This oversight reveals the bill's true intent - to systematically disenfranchise women voters across the country through draconian voter ID requirements. It is a reprehensible measure that undermines a fundamental democratic right under the guise of electoral integrity. There is simply no credible justification for such blatant voter suppression targeting women. I implore you to reject this unacceptable legislation and uphold every citizen's ability to freely cast their ballot.
