I am writing to express urgent concern regarding President Trump’s ability to lead during a moment of escalating international tension.
In the span of just one hour speaking to the media, the President made a series of contradictory statements about Iran and U.S. military involvement:
• He both requested and rejected a ceasefire multiple times
• He declared victory repeatedly while also escalating rhetoric
• He suggested deploying Marines, then stated there would be no boots on the ground
• He claimed the U.S. is not at war, while speaking and acting as though it is
• He contradicted himself on critical global issues, including oil prices and the status of the Strait of Hormuz
This pattern is not a matter of political disagreement—it raises serious concerns about consistency, clarity, and command judgment during a potential military conflict.
The United States cannot afford confusion or instability in its Commander-in-Chief, particularly when American lives and global security are at stake. Clear, coherent leadership is essential in moments like these.
I urge you and your colleagues to take these concerns seriously and to exercise your constitutional responsibilities. Congress has both the authority and the obligation to ensure that the President is capable of discharging the duties of the office. If necessary, this includes evaluating appropriate measures under the 25th Amendment.
This is not about partisanship. It is about national security, the safety of our service members, and the stability of our country.
I respectfully ask that you address this issue with the urgency it demands.
