While nearly a billion dollars flows into gilded trim and vanity construction, pediatric cancer research is getting zeroed out, humanitarian food aid we already paid for is rotting in warehouses, and National Park Service funding is being cannibalized to pay for a Washington arch. These aren't abstract budget lines — they're kids in oncology wards, families in the cereal aisle doing math, and rangers watching trails crumble. The money being poured into this renovation was earned by working people who were promised it would go toward roads, science, parks, and feeding families. This is taxpayer theft dressed up as renovation.
